Q: How to reach the institute?
Ans: The institute is located opposite of ICICI bank and DOMINO’S pizza, Dona Paula. Panaji
From Panjim Bus stand – Board a bus to Dona Paula circle or to Bambolim via Dona Paula circle and alight at Fish Market.
From Dambolim airport – The institute is around 40 KM from the airport. Prepaid taxis are available.
From Madgaon Railway station – The distance is around 38 KM. Prepaid taxis are available.

Q: What documents should be carried for course registration?
Ans: The following document has to be submitted for registration.
i) ID Proof- Passport copy, driver license, Govt./Company ID
ii) Address proof- Aadhar card , Election ID, Ration card
iii) Age proof- Birth Certificate, School leaving certificate
iv) Medical / fitness certificate- To be submitted in original
v) 4 nos of passport size photographs- To be submitted in
original

Q: Can online payment be done?
Ans: Yes. The fee can be paid online but the transaction reference number should be kept safe and submitted to office before the commencement of courses.

Q: What are the courses offered?

Q: Is it possible for a course to be conducted off campus?
Ans: Yes. A request may be send to Nodal Officer of the institute by E-mail or Post. To conduct of course, require a minimum 12 numbers of trainees in each batch or payment of fees to its equivalent. Course fees may be paid in advance.

Q: What is the validity of the license/certificate?
Ans: All licenses are valid for two years from the last date of successful completion of course. It has to be renewed in every two years.

Q: Are there any prescribed educational qualification for attending the course?
Ans: Not prescribed for many courses. However, it would beneficial to have reading and writing proficiency at least in the mother-tongue. Necessary details can be ascertained from the Office.

Q: Are there any dress code in attending the course?
Ans: Yes. It is recommended to wear a swimming costume while on the practical part of the course. Besides, goggles, sun-cream may also be brought.

Q: Is accommodation provided by the institute?
Ans: Not for time-being. But arrangements for accommodations can be done on requests. The trainees’ should bear the cost for the same and settle directly with the hotel/guesthouse.

Q: Whether proficiency of swimming is necessary for admission?
Ans: Yes. The trainees are required to complete swimming for 100 meters in less than 3 minutes in open-water. In case of Pool Lifeguard course, the trainees should be able to swim for 100 meters within under 2 minutes.

Q: Whether the course is practise-based?
Ans: All courses are conducted with primary focus on hands-on training and practical exercises to harness the skill competencies.

Q: Whether the course fees include boarding and lodging?
Ans: No. the amount charged towards course fees only cover the fees.

Q: What is the formality for Jet-ski Operators’ certification?
Ans: You should have to have a Life Saving Techniques and Power-boat Handling (Tiller) from NIWS, and minimum 06 months of operational experience upon certification.

Q: What is the formality for Parasailing Operators’ certification?
Ans: You should have to have a Life Saving Techniques and Power-boat Handling (Tiller) from NIWS, and minimum 01 months of operational experience upon certification.

Q: Can I obtain a certification in Powerboat Handling (Tiller) without a certification in Life Saving Techniques?
Ans: No. A certification in life saving techniques is compulsory for all watercraft handling courses (motorized and Non-motorized).

About IITTM

1. Can you tell something about IITTM?
Ans. It is a premier centre of excellence for education, training and research in Tourism, Travel and Cargo sector, provides basic framework for investment in Human Resource Development. Established as a registered society under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, presently the centres of IITTM are located at Gwalior (Head Quarter), Bhubaneswar, NOIDA, Goa and Nellore.

2. When we have many tourism institutes in our country? Why students are more interested for IITTM?
Ans. Because it is the apex body of the Union Government in tourism and travel education, research, training and consultancy in the country. With well-structured courses, excellent faculties, and innovative programme, IITTM is definitely a priority for those seeking to pursue higher education in the field of tourism.

3. What are the teaching programmes offered at IITTM?
Ans. IITTM offers MBA in Tourism and Travel Management (TTM) and BBA (Tourism & Travel) programmes (in academic collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, M.P.) at Gwalior, NOIDA, Bhuabneswar and Nellore centers.

4. What are the fees for the various programmes?
Ans. Fees for MBA (TTM) programme (for two years) is Rs. 3,09,500/- and for BBA (Tourism & Travel) (for three years) is Rs. 2,54,500/-. The hostel and mess charges are excluded in these fee amounts.

5. Can fees be paid in installments?
Ans. No, annual fees must be paid at the time of admission.

6. What is the eligibility Criteria for MBA (Tourism) and BBA (Tourism & Travel) programmes?
Ans. For MBA (TTM), the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline of a university and equivalent thereto with 50% marks (45% for SC / ST) while for BBA (TT), the candidate should pass 10+2 with 50% marks (45% for SC / ST). Refer the Admission Bulletins, for detail information.

7. Does IITTM have hostel facilities?
Ans. Yes, a modest hostel accommodation for both boys and girls is available on the campus. However, the capacity of these hostels is limited and the offer is made on the basis of merit. Some students may have to make their own arrangements for stay in adjoining residential colonies. One can find a good accommodation rather conveniently.

8. How do I apply for MBA (TTM) or BBA (TT) courses?
Ans. The candidate can apply only through online mode. Refer Admission Bulletins for details.

9. I have appeared at CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT Exam. Do I have to appear at IGNTU IITTM Admission test (IIAT)?
Ans. No, we accept either the CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT scores or IIAT score. But in case you would like to improve your chances you may appear at IIAT. You may not pay additional test fees for that. Test date is notified in advance. For test date, candidate may refer the admission bulletins or else contact at 0751-2345821.

10. Do reservations apply for admission to IITTM programmes?
Ans. Yes, as per rules of IGNTU. For details, refer the admission bulletins.

11. Does IITTM undertake any research and training programs?
Ans. Yes, IITTM staffs are actively engaged in research, consultancies, executive training and other out-reach activities.

12. Is there any “ragging” at IITTM?
Ans. No, it is banned. At most you may have a couple of friendly interactions with “seniors”.

13. Is there a prescribed uniform?
Ans. Yes, information can be collected from the Course Chairperson(s).

14. From which states do you have students in your course?
Ans. From almost all the states of India.

15. Do you offer any foreign language?
Ans. French is one module in MBA (TTM) and BBA (TT) courses. Or else, IITTM Gwalior is offering short term foreign language courses from time to time. 16. What is your placement record?
Ans. With fast expansion of the tourism and travel industry and diversification of economy, MBA (TTM) course offers many alterations in addition to proper tourism industry segments. These include MICE segment, theme parks management, events segment management, Hotel and Resorts Management, Travel writers and travel photographers, Tour guiding, Ground handlers at airports, travel BPO’s etc. There are adequate avenues for career mobility across the industry segments.
